Hours and Tour Times
1719 Herr House & Museum and Lancaster Longhouse will open September 4, 2020. Group tours may be scheduled on other days depending on the availability of volunteers and staff.

The Herr House is open from:
- April 27 – October 26
- Friday, & Saturday
- 10am – 4pm
To see the inside of Longhouse and Herr House, visitors go on a guided tour that explores these two buildings and looks at the stories, experiences, architecture, and artifacts conveyed in them.
Tours last an hour and 15 minutes and start at the following times:
- 10:00 (to 11:15)
- 11:30 (to 12:45)
- 1:00 (to 2:15)
- 2:30 (to 3:45)
On tours, guests start in the Longhouse to see the kind of dwelling that Native Americans used here before the arrival of European dwellings before seeing the 1719 Herr House, the oldest surviving building in Lancaster County and an iconic example of Germanic architecture in America.
Admission prices for the tour are as follows:

Members receive one free admission a year.
We are located on Hans Herr Drive, just off of Route 222 just minutes south of Lancaster City.

When you arrive, you will go back our driveway get to the parking lot. Next to the parking lot is our Visitors’ Center, housed in an 1892 white farmhouse, where you will find a staff member or volunteer who can arrange for your tour.
